Sports - The History Of Steeplechase Horse Racing The History of Steeplechase Horse Racing
The sport of Steeplechase racing dates back to 1752 in Ireland when two, half-crocked, friends settled the argument over who owned the best horse by racing to the nearest Church steeple after returning from Fox hunting. The winner actually rode right through the church where the vicar was holding a solemn funeral. Soon steeplechase racing spread to England, where in 1792, the first recorded race was held. This sport then crossed over from the Atlantic to the US, where it has became very... |

Sports - The Kitesurfing Beginning And Early Kitesurfing Equipment The latest craze in extreme sports is kitesurfing. It may seem like a new idea but kitesurfing dates back to the 13th century, earliest record being made in the 12th century. It was used as a simple mode of transportation and it was called kitesailing. The idea was to use a kite to enchance speed and gravity.
Kitesurfing, the beginning Kitesurfing has it's root in the early 1980's, when kite skiing and flysurfing first appeared. The first Kiteski system was developed using a rigid framed kite with a reel-bar and water skis by Cory Roseler from Oregon. He was launching the kite from hand and to begin riding he lets out line from the reel. If the kite cr... |

Hello my friend...
It is never a good idea to place a wager based strictly on a system or on a trend or because of an injury or just because of a weather concern, the reason why of course is because you can bet your bottom dollar that the odds maker also knows of these factors as well and has already made the adjustments.

Sports - Using Shutter Speed To Control The Look Of Your Photo
Using Shutter Speed to Control the Look of Your Photo By Patty Hankins & Bill Lawrence
In the last newsletter, we talked a bit about changing the aperture to control depth of field. This time, we thought we would look at the other method of controlling exposure (for a given ASA): controlling the shutter speed.
For any particular level of light and ASA, either film or digital, proper exposure is a function of both the aperture (how much light is let into the camera), and shutter speed (how long the shutter is open to let light shine on the sensor or film). For every f-stop increase in aperture number (i.e. making the aperture smaller), the shutter speed has to be halved, i.e. the shutter remains open twice as long, to maintain the same exposure. ... |

Sports - Variety Is The Spice Of Life “Variety is the Spice of Life.” This is one of my favorite quotes, and how true it is. Is life not much better when it is filled with a “variety” of the things we like? Of course it is. It is inevitable that some things in your life will go wrong, so it is nice to have other things that you still enjoy to fall back on. Like investing, they always say, “Do not put all of your eggs in one basket.” The same goes for our personal lives. The way to be happy is to fill our lives with a “variety” of things that make us happy. If you have a variety of things that make you happy, this decreases the risk of becoming unhappy if just a few things go wrong. So... |

Sports - Video Game Violence...what Do You Think About It? Ever since video game designers were able to put red pixels on their imaginary characters that had recently deceased, there have been people crusading against their subversive ways. The outrage at video games seems to be cyclic, fading very briefly before exploding into the public eye once more with renewed frenzy. The controversy seems to have sparked up again in recent times, with numerous crimes being blamed on the corruptive influence of video games. There have also been various "controversies" surrounding recent video games and their content in the areas of both violence and sexuality.

Sports - Why Do Injuries Occur In Golf? Injuries occur in all athletic events quite frequently, certain sports more so than others. Golf is no different than any other sport. Sports - Why Use An Internet Sports Book To Make Wagers? Although I started using online sportsbooks almost ten years ago, I still maintained contact with a couple of local books for the express purpose of getting better lines with regard to the local or favorite teams of choice in my neck of the woods, the reasoning of course was so that if I saw "Value" in going against the the local or favorite teams of choice then what better place to get the best line when going against them then in their home area?
However, a not so funny thing happened when one of the locals that I was using got crushed one week three years ago and skipped town and in doing so stiffed me for $1200, since that point in time I have wagered strictly o... |

Sports - Why Winning As A Team Is The Only Way To Play Sports Why winning as a team is the only way to play sports ) Copyright 2005 Nick Gustavsson
Ok so you have been on a few softball or soccer teams where there is one good kid who players much better then all the rest. Most of the games he/she carries the team and it is expected that he/she will raise to any occasion if needed. How do you deal with this as a coach? What is the reason for the team? To win right? That should be simple then. Play the good kid all the time. Wrong and here is why.
We will take a not so big step from youth sports to military training. What do they have in common? Just about everything. Lets take a look at it more closely. They both have individuals of different ab... |

Sports - Wrapping Up Week 13 Who To Keep And Who To Let Go As we are beginning week 14, let’s go over some teams that I think might not make the 2006 playoffs and should be thinking of getting rid of the elements that got them the bottom spots before the 2006 NFL Draft. Miami Dolphins: Ricky Williams is not helping, looks like his career is over, this sends a clear message to management of who to be letting go. Baltimore Ravens: The team is a disaster. Quarterback Kyle Boller, should be the first one to be fired. Houston Texans: This is the worst franchise in the NFL and they have to draft some... |
